The role
The primary focus of the position is to foster effective collaboration between Integrated Water Management (IWM) Forum member organisations through engagement and clear communication, while working to achieve the strategic vision of the Forum (as per link to Strategic Directions below). The role will also support Forum organisations in their work to achieve IWM outcomes and represent the Forum at relevant events, activities and meetings in an engaging and collaborative manner.
The position will provide crucial support to IWM organisations on IWM activities that contribute to achieving the 8 strategic outcomes endorsed by the Forum. The IWM Officer will be involved in projects and policy development relating to all parts of the water cycle across urban and at times broader catchments, to achieve multiple benefits for environmental, social, Traditional Owner cultural, and economic values and needs. This includes potable and waste water, stormwater, groundwater and rivers, with a focus on appropriate and sustainable use of all sources of water to meet a range of needs, as well as improving water quality outcomes.

What you’ll bring
- Tertiary qualification in a field of engineering, natural resources management, or relevant science, or significant and relevant practical experience in a related discipline.
- Proven experience and skills in driving and fostering collaboration, stakeholder engagement, communicating and negotiating with a range of people.
- High level project management skills.
- Excellent planning, time management and priority setting skills.
- Exceptional ability to set own day to day work objectives and to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated initiative and strategic thinking.
