DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This is a technical position within the Bureau of Clean Water’s (BCW) Data Management Section that supports the statewide Clean Water Program (CWP) and assists in the fulfillment of the Department’s obligations to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) Chesapeake Bay Program. The employee in this position develops and/or interprets regulations, policies, technical guidance, and permits to achieve data management and compliance objectives in the Bureau’s environmental programs. The employee acts as a liaison between Field Operations, Central Office, the EPA, the regulated community, and the public for all areas of data reporting and management and evaluating conformance with procedures, guidance, grants, and state and federal regulations. Data processing is an important segment of this position’s responsibilities, including the application of quality assurance methodologies and the analysis and interpretation of data. The position’s highest priority is the management and reporting of wastewater point source data within Pennsylvania’s portion of the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework), part-time up to 3 days a week. Telework is on a rotating schedule. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
- Travel away from local area is infrequent but necessary (meetings, trainings, etc.).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of professional environmental protection experience; and a bachelor’s degree in the biological, physical, or environmental sciences, engineering, or in a field closely related to environmental protection or regulation; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes three years of professional environmental protection experience.
Condition of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver’s license.
