About the Role:
The GIS Analyst provides geospatial information and analysis support to DEW business units and external clients using a range of GIS technologies, including mobile, desktop, enterprise and cloud-based options.
The GIS Analyst is responsible for ensuring:
- Geospatial information product and analysis support is provided to DEW business units and external clients to support departmental and SA Government objectives.
- Advice on geospatial standards, procedures and tools is provided to help DEW staff understand GIS platform capabilities and define business requirements.
- Business requirements are captured for a range of geospatial data, services and products through liaising with appropriate DEW staff and external clients.
- Authoritative data and services are developed based on standards and repeatable, automated procedures.
- Configurable web based tools are deployed to assist DEW staff meet departmental program objectives.
- Project support, documentation and reporting on the application of geospatial analysis procedures is provided to help DEW staff achieve project outcomes.

Desirable Qualifications:
A tertiary qualification in spatial science, natural resource/water resource management is desirable
Special Conditions:
- This position is located in the Adelaide CBD
- May be required to participate in fire management or associated duties. This may involve supporting geospatial systems used during emergency incidents.
- A current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd is essential.
- May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel and work outside of the normal hours of work.
- This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role you consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Department requiring you to obtain an NPC.
Remuneration:
ASO4 $74,315 min – $77,901 max p.a.
