You and your job
You are our sustainability advisor with environmental expertise focused on food & agribusiness (“F&A”) systems. In these areas, you deal with key business-, environmental- and nature-related challenges related to the F&A system dependencies of, and impact on nature and ecosystems. This means that you provide your expertise on, for example, challenges related to fertilizer and pesticide use, sustainable water management, and pollutionof food and agribusiness systems, including people and animal health and safety, and environmental impacts of logistics.

- You challenge and innovate our strategy, environmental and nature-related client due diligence requirements and actions to help make Rabobank more sustainable;
- You present compelling analyses and provide subject-matter expertise to improve the sustainability performance of Rabobank.

Top 4 responsibilities
- You are the go-to expert to challenge improve our sustainability ambitions and standards, especially with regard to water, waste, pollution and biodiversity challenges of F&A systems.
- You identify and assess sector dependencies and impacts on natural resources, you know how to translate those in acceptance and performance requirements for client and product assessment and advise your colleagues on business decisions linked to the above-mentioned challenges.
- You know major international policy developments, regulations and industry standards, external stakeholder needs, and best practices in your area of expertise
- You collaborate in a wide Rabobank and external network and deliver key components in our sustainability programs and projects
Context
Within our Sustainability department, we work in in several teams and programs, working on Strategies and Standards, Regulations and Commitments, Reporting & Communications, the Sustainability Transformation Office, the Paris Alignment program and the Nature program. Your role is part of the Sustainability Expertise team, embedded in the Strategy & Standards team. As part of the Expertise team, you work closely together with subject-matter specialists in environmental and social topics, contributing to vision, strategy, and standards we apply in our financing and other services, contributing to improving our social and environmental impacts, and to diminishing our risks.

You and your talent
- You have a drive to make Rabobank more sustainable.
- Proven expertise and experience regarding F&A systems’ environmental and nature-related challenges related to air, water, land and life, preferably (also) in banking or industry.
- At least master level higher education in a relevant subject-matter theme (e.g, Biology or Environmental Science).
- Fluent in English, Dutch is a plus.
- Excellent effective personal communication and writing skills, especially in translating complex subject-matter into compelling analyses, proposals and solutions.
- Ability and willingness to explore (also) other related environmental topics and questions as they occur in the team and need to be addressed.

- up to € 6.741,24gross per month (scale 10)
