Due to sustained growth, our close-knit Aotearoa-based team is looking for experienced Hydrogeologists, Hydrologists, Water Scientists, GIS Spatial Analysts and Water Engineers to join our company’s Water Group. We are seeking exceptional individuals to assist in the technical assessment, design, commissioning, and optimisation of water projects being designed to help build resilience in our communities to the impacts of a changing climate. In addition to undertaking projects in Aotearoa, our Water Team is also engaged in exciting and interesting work internationally. Our success is based upon fantastic client relationships, talented and supported people and expert project delivery.
Long term strategic roles are available that range from graduate to senior level. We are currently based out of offices in Auckland, Hamilton, and Christchurch but are interested in high quality applicants from across Aotearoa. WGA flexible work policies and environment provides our team members a range of modern work environments including part-time and remote access and a unique blend of freedom with technical and personal support.
To be successful in the range of roles on offer, it is expected that you will possess:
o Tertiary qualification in Hydrogeology, Hydrology, Geology, Environmental Sciences, Geosciences, Water Resource Engineering, or other related technical discipline.
o Experience in analytical water resource characterisation, including riverine and/or groundwater system evaluation and interpretation.
o Proven aptitude and a keen passion for working on forward-looking solutions to water management challenges.
o Keen interest in contributing to and learning from a dynamic, high quality work environment where technical excellence and professional growth is a focus.
o Experience in numerical modelling or analysis tools for groundwater, surface water and 3D visualisations including ArcGIS and Leapfrog.
o Experience in field investigations such as site mapping, surface water flow monitoring, testing.
o Experience interacting and working with specialists in other fields, such as geotechnical engineers, ecologists and planners to deliver fully integrated and practical outcomes for our clients.
o Ideally, a strong understanding of New Zealand’s current water-related legislation and policies, standards and guidelines.
o Ideally strong communication skills, including high quality technical report writing skills.
o Ideally strong project management skills and ability to interact with our clients to facilitate project delivery and best outcomes.
