This Opportunity:

Palladium is seeking long-term Technical Experts for the anticipated USAID/Indonesia Urban Climate Change Adaptation Activity, which is a 5-Year USAID-funded program which aims to improve climate and disaster resilience in Indonesia. The Activity will support the GOI at local, district, provincial, and national levels; working directly with communities and the private sector; and helping key stakeholders to mobilize financing and develop, disseminate, and utilize better climate change information. 

The program’s objectives may comprise the following four areas:

Support GOI efforts to integrate disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation in sub-national core development plans and investments.Mobilize financing to advance urban climate resilience.Strengthen systems for collection and application of climate data, services and decision support tools to improve planning processes in target cities.Advance Urban Nature-Based Solutions to Promote Climate Resilience.

Palladium is seeking multiple experts within the sectors of climate change adaptation (CCA), resilience, urban planning, disaster risk management (DRR), nature-based solutions, conservation and biodiversity to provide technical leadership in the areas of:  

  1. Climate Change Adaptation (CCA)
  2. Disaster Risk Management (DRR) 
  3. Urban Planning
  4. Spatial Planning
  5. GIS/Information Systems
  6. Climate Finance 
  7. Vulnerability Analysis
  8. Public-Private Partnerships 
  9. Climate Resilient Infrastructure Planning 
  10. Climate & Disaster Risk Information 
  11. Urban Nature-based solutions (conservation and restoration)
  12. Urban Water & Watershed Management
  13. Mangrove Restoration
  14. Flood Management
  15. Water Resource Management

These positions will be based in Jakarta and are contingent upon funding availability and USAID approval. 

Key Competencies Required:

  • Master’s Degree or higher in climate change, urban planning, water resource management, international development, natural resource, or relevant related fields.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the relevant field of expertise.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with USAID or other donor-funded programs.
  • Prior experience working in Indonesia is required. Experience working with the Indonesian government preferred.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Full professional proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesian is required.
