Local recruitment: Intern (Bioregional Economies)

Water, Environment, Land and Livelihoods (WELL) Labs

India 🇮🇳

Bioregional Economies

The objective of the Bioregional Economies project is to help rural India transition towards ecological and economical sustainability by enabling cross-learning through playbooks, among other initiatives. Playbooks are open digital public commons that crowdsource documentation and directories around existing development models and know-how so that they can be scaled to other geographies.

We help organisations bring together proven best practices from different domains, such as community building, water, food fuel, fodder systems, local production, education, healthcare, livelihood, culture, market connects, etc.

The job involves

Helping experienced on-grassroots organisations encapsulate their knowledge in the form of a playbook.

Each playbook will be a page in an online chapter that answers a specific question for a specific user, such as how to recharge a dry borewell, cultivate honey or mushrooms, set up seed banks, practise natural farming, set up a company, secure FSSAI licenses, brand and package, practise agroforestry, etc.

Each playbook will have links to documentation from practitioners/researchers, an online forum of experts to answer questions, and links to vendors who sell inputs, equipment, etc.

To crowdsource playbooks from experienced practitioners, we have identified anchor and knowledge partner organisations in our network.
