The WateReuse Association is the nation’s only trade association solely dedicated to advancing laws, policy, funding, and public acceptance of recycled water. WateReuse represents water utilities that recycle water, businesses that support the development of recycled water projects, and consumers of recycled water.
The WateReuse Association seeks a Technical and Regulatory Program Manager. This is a full-time position reporting to Director of Policy and Government Affairs.
The Technical and Regulatory Program Manager is responsible for developing technical program content, developing general web content, and managing the Association’s regulatory portfolio.
Specifically, the position will be responsible for the following:
• Assisting the Director of Government Affairs and Policy with tracking relevant regulatory policy developments that impact WateReuse strategic goals and initiatives.
• Developing comments, in consultation with WateReuse members, on federal rules, regulations, and guidance materials.
• Leading the Association’s implementation of the U.S. EPA National Water Reuse Action Plan by facilitating action team meetings, including preparation and follow-up, and serving as liaison to the Federal Interagency Working Group on Water Reuse.
• Supporting the work of the Legislative and Regulatory Policy Committee led by the Director of Government Affairs and Policy.
• Preparing policy related research, briefing material, and weekly Washington Update for the WateReuse Review.
• Serving as primary program manager and liaison to volunteer standing committees for Potable Reuse and Water Reuse Research.
• Assisting with program-related projects that require research, information management, and meeting organization. Assisting with the development of additional content for web seminars, the website, and policy briefings.
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Qualified candidates should possess the following:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher (science, engineering or subject matter relevant to water resources concentration).
• Exemplary writing and communications skills (ability to write quickly under deadlines)
• Experience organizing meetings or small events.
• Experience working with volunteers and coalitions.
• Experience with regulatory development and/or government programs and policies.
