Offer Description

the research activity of the candidate will focus on the development of a diagnostic-forecasting tool on the state of the quality of surface waters such as lakes (natural and artificial) and streams, which combines advanced processing and analysis techniques of satellite products with the development of a hybrid, physically based model with stochastic calibration of the parameters for the prediction of water quality variables. The main water quality variables considered will be the surface temperature of the water, turbidity, dissolved oxygen and chlorophyll. The modeling activity will include the rewriting, extension and improvement of models already available within the research group (air2water and air2stream). The diagnostic-forecasting tool developed will be able to offer support for the planning and management of water resources by local authorities and managers in charge of the management of surface water bodies.
