We have been actively implementing project in South Asia for last 30+ years through our local partners. The current phase of BORDA is targeted towards solving crises growing out of rapid, unplanned urbanization.
We work with small and medium towns and local authorities to enable them in providing their citizens with improved infrastructure facilities and service delivery in WASH sector. BORDA’s holistic, sustainable urban and regional planning approaches ensure efficient, reliable and affordable water, sanitation and energy services.
BORDA SA (South Asia) is the regional unit of BORDA, working in 4 South Asian countries – India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan. It is headquartered in Bangalore, India.

Project Details
The project focuses on the approach of integrated water management for improving municipal water supply and sanitation in small and medium towns in India, Nepal and Bangladesh. The main components include – pilot demonstration of integrated and decentralized solutions for improved water and sanitation services, institutional strengthening and enhanced enabling environment. Our key areas of action include planning, project coordination and supervision support to partners with capacity building and dissemination of project learnings.

BORDA SA is looking for a vibrant and dedicated candidate for the position of ‘Knowledge and Communications Manager under its project titled ‘Integrated water management in urban areas as a core task of municipal services of general interest’. The candidate is supposed to manage the Knowledge and Communications Manager portfolio at BORDA SA and undertake the responsibilities mentioned in the below section.

Qualification and Requirements
The candidate must fulfill the following requirements for the position,
- Bachelor’s/Master’s or equivalent degree in the field of urban planning / public policy/ economics / political science/ civil engineering etc.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in the field of knowledge management and dissemination (compilation and dissemination of reports, external facing written communication, donor reporting etc.), preferably in the field of Water and Sanitation
- Experience in content development and writing
- Flair for communication
- Candidates must be well versed in MS Office application (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
- Candidates having proficiency in using design software like InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw etc. will be preferred
Responsibilities
The candidate shall be expected to fulfill following responsibilities as a part of Communication Manager’s portfolio,
Knowledge Management
- Create an interactive database of BORDA’s project documentation (project lists, partner lists, photo archives, presentations, site visit kits, press kits, etc.) and knowledge materials (thematic reports, presentations, learning videos etc.)
- Coordinate with and solicit inputs from various implementing, knowledge and network partners for the database
- Manage, organize and update BORDA’s photo library, ensuring that a selection of high-quality photographs with appropriate content are available for reporting and public information needs
Content Development and Dissemination
- Prepare/Proof read project reports, pitch presentations, project proposals, network presentations, publication materials etc. as per the need of the ongoing projects.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly newsletter for the South Asia region and disseminate in relevant networks
- Showcase BORDA’s efforts at global platforms by publishing one pagers/articles etc. in globally distributed news publications
- Develop other content for outreach as per the requirement of the program
Communications Strategy and Branding
- Formulate the communication strategy of BORDA SA with outreach plan
- Align BORDA’s partners with the developed strategy and outreach plan.
- Advance BORDA’s brand identity, broaden awareness of its programs and priorities and increase the visibility of its programs across key stakeholders
Public Information
- Proactively develop cutting-edge media materials, including videos and social media products
- Organize outreach materials to ensure there are enough products on hand to be responsive to requests for information
- Solicit information for reports, success stories, case studies etc. from program managers and implementing partners
Location
- The opportunity would be based out of Bangalore; therefore, the candidate is expected to shift to Bangalore. The opportunity would also require a significant amount of travel (up to 20% of time) to project sites.
Date of joining
The selected candidate shall be expected to join the position on or before 1st June 2022.
Expected CTC
The range of annual CTC for this position is between INR 7,00,000 to INR 10,00,000. The annual CTC will depend on the work experience and last salary drawn of the candidate.
