Summary of Job Duties:

PROJECT/PROGRAM SPECIALIST, University of Arkansas System, Division of Agriculture, Little Rock, AR. UA System Division of Agriculture is seeking to hire an individual for the position of Project/Program Specialist. Job duties for this position include the following: (1) develop mobile and internet software applications in support of the Irrigation Water Management Program; (2) write and/or follow irrigation program specification using structured code to develop application software programs for irrigation water management; (3) document, develop, maintain, and deploy mobile applications in repositories in both node-JS, Swift and Java; (4) work with Irrigation Engineer and team members to coordinate apps and smartphone projects with embedded systems; (5) rudimentary understanding of hydraulics and irrigation systems (6) maintain and train team members on code development; (7) assist in planning, preparation and conducting seminars on mobile apps; (8) prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status and (9) experience deploying IoT devices on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and mobile app databases on Heroku.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or other related field of study is required.  In addition, applicants must have 24 months of relevant work experience with irrigation concepts and code development and architecture to be considered for this position.
