Description du poste
L’Institut des Sciences de l’Environnement (ISE) et son Pôle de gouvernance de l’environnement et du développement territorial (PGEDT) ouvrent une inscription pour un poste d’assistant-e.
Il s’agit d’un poste à 80% comprenant (cf. cahier des charges joint) :
- la réalisation d’une thèse de doctorat rattachée à la Facutlé des sciences de la société;
- des tâches d’assistanat dans le cadre des enseignements (en français et en anglais) : MUSE, 14E225, Water Governance and Policy, MUSE, 14E207, Politique de l’environnement, MUSE, 14E202. Environnement alpin et société. IHDS, T406003, Sustainable Development and political innovation.
- Tâches administratives;
- une participation active à la vie du Pôle de gouvernance de l’environnement et du développement territorial.
La recherche doctorale devra porter sur des questions liées à la gouvernance de l’environnement et de l’eau en particulier. Les sujets d’étude privilégiés, mais non exclusifs, sont les suivants :
- Gouvernance transfrontalière de l’eau
- Gouvernance de l’eau et justice environnementale
- Gouvernance et adaptation aux changements climatiques
Titre et compétences exigés
- Master en sciences de l’environnement, géographie, sciences politiques, développement territorial, développement durable, sociologie, socio-économie ou autre titre jugé équivalent.
- Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais (au minimum une langue niveau C1 et l’autre B1).
- Capacité de réflexion théorique et critique

L’asistant-e est nommé-e pour une première période de 2 ans; la nomination est renouvelable pour deux périodes successives, respectivement de 2 ans et 1 an. Le poste est financé sur fonds du Département de l’instruction publique (DIP).
La première année constitue une période d’essai au cours de laquelle il peut être mis fin aux rapports de service moyennant le respect d’un délai de résiliation de 3 mois pour la fin d’un mois.
Job description
The Institute for Environmental Sciences (ISE) and its Reserach Hub for Environmental Governance and Territorial Development (Pôle GEDT) opens a position of Research and Teaching Assistant.
This a 80% position comprising (see Terms of Reference attached) :
- The completion of a doctoral thesis at the Geneva School of Social Sciences;
- teaching assistance (in French and English) for the following courses : MUSE, 14E225, Water Governance and Policy, MUSE, 14E207, Politique de l’environnement, MUSE, 14E202, Environnement alpin et société, IHDS, T406603, Sustainable Development and political innovation;
- administrative tasks; and
- active participation in the activities of the Pôle GEDT.
The doctoral reserach should focus on questions related to the governance of the environment and of water in particular. Preferred topics of research include, but are not limited to :
- Transboundary water governance
- Water governance and environmental justice
- Governance and climate changes adaptation
Necessary skills and requirements
- Master’s degree in environmental sciences, geography, political science, territorial development, sustainable development, sociology, socio-economics or other title deemed equivalent.
- Fluency in French and English (at least one language level C1 and the other B1).
- Ability to think theoretically and critically

Interviews will take place in the end of April 2023.
The assistant shall be appointed for an initial period of 2 years; the appointment shall be renewable for two successive periods of 2 years and 1 year respectively. The post is financed from funds of the Département de l’instruction publique (DIP) of the Canton of Geneva.
The first year is a probationary period during which service may be terminated subject to a three-month notice period for the end of one month.
