part-time employment may be possible, under the reserve that funds are granted
The Department of Hydrogeology at the TU Berlin focusses on the sustainable management
of groundwater resources, which require modern utilization concepts due to land use
change and climate change. The department has extensive experimental field equipment as
well as a hydrogeological test field for research and teaching. In addition, several third-party
funded projects with field sites in Berlin and Brandenburg as well as in Italy and Israel are being worked on.
Tasks
Within the scope of the position, experimental field methods shall be developed, which allow the integration of natural heterogeneity of porous aquifers into numerical models of the unsaturated and saturated zone. The main focus is on catchment-scale investigations and parameterization as well as the development of hydrogeological and hydrogeophysical field methods to derive infiltration dynamics. Lead of the experimental hydrogeological courses with 4 SWS and engagement in the supervision of bachelor and master theses is expected. Teaching includes supervision of the field course and conduction of lectures and exercises on hydrogeological laboratory and field methods as well as geostatistics. The willingness to support the department in the acquisition of external funding is desired. The possibility for a habilitation is offered.
Requirements
A person with experience in experimental hydrogeology at field scale is sought. In addition
to a successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in geosciences and a PhD with a focus on field-scale experimental hydrogeology or hydrogeophysics.
