Offer Description
The fellow will be involved in the development of numerical models for the investigation of water entry of bodies, both pure vertical and in presence of a horizontal velocity component. Low-fidelity models, based on the boundary element method, will have to be developed and validated against theoretical solutions or numerical simulations with higher fidelity models or, where available, with experimental measurements. The presence of the horizontal velocity component will have to be accounted for by using the slender body approximations
