Key duties and accountabilities for this role include:

• Provide support to the delivery of Regional Water Assessment projects by contributing to project management planning, delivery of monthly project report, maintaining project risks and issues registers, and supporting the governance required to meet project objectives in a timely manner.

• Undertake and support stakeholder consultation and engagement for large-scale bulk water infrastructure and non-infrastructure proposals undertaken by the Department and its partners/stakeholders.

• Undertake research and analysis of urban, agricultural and industrial water policy and associated issues to inform best practice stewardship and development of the state’s finite resources.

• Prepare advice on a range of strategic urban, agricultural and industrial water policy, regulatory and development issues and identify mechanisms for improvement to optimise sustainable development outcomes that achieve economic benefits for regional Queensland.

• Contribute to the preparation of complex reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, speeches, publications and correspondence.

• Analyse technical reports and liaise with consultants to ensure procured products are consistent with departmental expectations and requirements.

• Support the implementation of communication strategies by preparing communication aids including information sheets, PowerPoint presentations and other material as required.

• Provide secretariat functions for Regional Water Assessment committees and stakeholder groups as required, including liaison with members, organising venues, agendas and coordinating the preparation and circulation of meeting resources.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues and with other levels of government, industry and non-government organisations to achieve policy outcomes and deliver on government commitments.

• Other duties as directed and required.
