Job Description
The Nevada Mountain Ecohydrology Group in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Science at the University of Nevada, Reno seeks a postdoctoral researcher in the fields of hydrology, ecohydrology, or computational hydrology. The researcher would be primarily working on forest hydrology and management issues in the Sierra Nevada and larger western U.S. on projects funded by the U.S. Forest Service and National Science Foundation. The two year position (with possibility of extension) would offer flexibility in research interests and directions. Expectations are for high productivity in peer-review and related publications. The research group is a mix of post-docs, graduate students, technicians, and undergraduates. Opportunities exist for teaching and outreach around these subjects. The post-doctoral researcher will be expected to work closely with students and help manage larger research projects. Career development opportunities will be provided to ensure long-term success in their chosen field.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Hydrology or Water Resources or a related field.
- Completion of a doctoral degree in the appropriate discipline is required.
- The doctoral degree must have been completed within the five years immediately preceding the first date of appointment as a postdoctoral fellow at the University.
- The individual cannot have held previous positions in the professional ranks.
