Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Doing
A successful candidate will provide entry-level research, outreach, training, and communications support for Cadmus’ U.S. Public Division/Water Team and will support contracts with EPA and other government clients. This position will provide support to U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other government clients in the areas of drinking water and water quality, specifically topics related to environmental justice, public health, climate change, water utility sustainability, and developing training materials for of drinking water operators and drinking water state program staff. This position requires someone who is highly motivated to perform and learn, able to work collaboratively and independently, detail-oriented, comfortable speaking in public, and able to manage assigned tasks and projects from start to finish with input from supervisors. Candidates should also possess exceptional research, oral and written communication, design, and analytical skills, enabling them to support Cadmus’ mission to successfully meet clients’ needs. Candidate must be comfortable performing tasks independently and learning new software with limited supervision. Candidates must have a professional demeanor and will have distinguished themselves with academic and professional excellence and a clearly demonstrated work ethic.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and synthesize information about drinking water regulations, public health, water sector climate adaptation options, water utility financing, or topics to support policy initiatives.
- Write or edit guidance documents, reports, case studies, presentations, and other documents directed to specific audiences (e.g., underserved and/or disadvantaged communities).
- Provide communications, training, and outreach support:
- Develop outreach and communication products, including fact-sheets and interactive tools, directed toward specific audiences (e.g., states, tribes, water systems, or the general public).
- Provide back-end meeting support including coordination, logistics, and note taking.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for Cadmus project teams.
- Provide general project support:
- Ensuring project manager and client satisfaction across multiple projects in a program.
- Facilitating information sharing and planning across projects and teams.
- Supporting the efforts of multiple project managers.
- Providing strategic thinking and problem solving in support of client initiatives.
- Ensuring all practices are carried out in accordance with internal quality assurance policies.
- Supporting high-quality client deliverables.
- Using quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze data and conduct evaluations.
- Present material internally and assist on external meetings (e.g., webinars and in-person events).
- Providing quality control support when developing client deliverables.
- Represent Cadmus and clients at workshops and conferences.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- BS/BA with coursework in environmental science and policy, public health, social sciences, or other relevant area.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting over the phone and to live audiences.
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to conduct research, collect secondary data, and analyze data in support of a data-driven analyses.
- Interest in training, education, and/or outreach and communications and developing aesthetically pleasing materials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Applied experience with research activities in an academic or professional setting.
- Experience public speaking.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S Perm Resident or U.S. Citizen.
Desired Qualifications:
- Classwork or professional experience with EPA regulatory programs, water science, or environmental policy, or environmental justice.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience in training, education, and/or outreach and communications.

The estimated starting salary for this position is $52,000. The actual salary may be higher and will be determined by several factors, including relevant work experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
