  • Engage with community residents, associations, businesses, and organizations to promote a conservation ethic and environmental protection
  • Design, implement, and evaluate micro research projects to support future program design planning.
  • Assist with compiling and reviewing existing City documentation in support of Water Security and climate resilience, mitigation, and adaptation actions.
  • Participate in water education drought response activities during an event if one should occur.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in and completion of at least 1 year of post-secondary education in Environmental Studies, Education, Communications, Horticulture, Geography, or a related field.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits, or a Graduated Driver’s License (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits, with no current suspensions or charges pending.
  • Ability to obtain a City of Calgary operator’s permit.
  • Key competencies for this position include: excellent communication, customer service, team work skills; demonstrated initiative, creativity, and strong organizational skills; ability to work collaboratively with others.

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in school on a full-time basis with the intent to return to school full-time in the Fall of 2023.
  • A security clearance will be conducted.
  • If invited to an interview, you will be asked to provide an unofficial transcript or an enrollment verification letter (indicating the program and year you are currently completing).
