Activity Description:

The overall purpose of the Climate-Resilient WASH Activity will be to accelerate the expansion and sustainability of climate-resilient water services and the adoption of key hygiene and sanitation practices for the underserved and vulnerable targeted lowland areas in Afar, Oromia, Somali and Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples (SSNP) regions. The Activity will work to fulfill this purpose through four complementary intermediate results:

路 Professionalize and expand climate-resilient water services;

路 Increase sustainable access to and use of sanitation and hygiene products and services, including for menstrual health and hygiene;

路 Improve gender power dynamics; and

路 Strengthen the enabling environment for climate-resilient water and sanitation services.

Deloitte is seeking WASH and climate resiliency specialists based in Ethiopia to join our team. Applicants should be mid- to senior-level experts with experience in one or more of the following technical areas:

路 Rural Water Service Provision

路 Civil Engineering

路 Private Sector Engagement

路 Data Management and Visualization

路 Water Resource Management

路 Grants Management

路 Conflict Mitigation

路 Gender and Inclusion Development

路 Climate Resilience

路 Sanitation and Hygiene

路 Behavior Change

路 Monitoring and Evaluation

General Qualifications and Expectation Sought Across Technical Positions:

路 Degree in international development, climate resilience, WASH, or another relevant field. Advanced degree preferred.

– Relevant experience accepted in lieu of advanced degree

路 5+ years of exceptional experience working in the water sector, international water resource management, WASH sector systems and governance, or water supply and sanitation services

路 Demonstrates a record of successful performance in at least one of the technical areas listed above

路 Experience leading or working as a USAID or other donor-funded teams is a plus

路 Additionally, experience working in and around Ethiopia is highly encouraged.

路 Proficiency in English is required, proficiency in Amharic desirable.


Candidates will be based locally in project offices throughout Ethiopia, as appropriate.
