The Junior Engineering Technician is an entry level position and successful candidates will be trained to use cutting edge electronics and monitoring instruments to calibrate water meters, assist with installation of equipment, operate, and maintain modern stream gaging stations, perform streamflow measurements, measure groundwater levels in water wells and use business applications to enter and retrieve data from databases.

Under close supervision of the Senior Engineer, the incumbent will receive on-the-job training while assisting to process well completion reports, measure groundwater levels in wells, perform stream-flow measurements, and test water meters at wells. This position requires the incumbent to maintain regular, consistent, and predictable attendance; work professionally and cooperatively with others; exercise good judgment and good safety practices; and record measurements and observations neatly and accurately.
