Vacancy for Senior Project Fellow
Centre for Environment and Social Concerns (https://cesc-india.org) is a not-for-profit inter-disciplinary resource centre registered as Charitable Public Trust in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. CESC invites applications from suitable and motivated candidates for the following position in an ongoing research project:
Project Title
Promoting the Integration of Ecosystem Services and Sustainable Development Goals: A Case Study of Rupen River Basin, Gujarat
Post Title
Senior Project Fellow
Project Duration
One year (January to December 2023)
Location
Ahmedabad, with regular travel to project areas of north Gujarat
Essential Qualification, Experience and Skill
· Post Graduate degree in ecology, environmental science, biodiversity, climate change, natural resource management, development studies or other related disciplines from a reputed academic institution.
· Minimum two years of field-based research experience in the themes around water
· Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
· Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office (Word and Excel is a must)
Desirable Qualification, Experience and Skills
· M Phil or PhD degree in any relevant subject
· Concepts around ecosystem services
· Practical knowledge of GIS
· Spoken Gujarati language
Job Description
· Design and conduct desk reviews and field research to map ecosystem services of different water systems in the Rupen River basin
· Collect secondary data from relevant Govt. Departments and agencies
· Organize collected data for a GIS database
· Analyse data and prepare quarterly progress reports of the study
· Guide project interns on the topics relevant to the study

Negotiable, based on qualification and experience
