ACTED PSEAH Policy:

The operator has the responsibility to adhere to the PSEAH Policy (Protection against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment). The operator has the obligation to complete all mandatory trainings related to the Code of Conduct and the PSEA policy and report any safeguarding concern such as breaches of organisational policies or codes of conduct according to ACTED’s procedures. The operator carries out work duties in a way that does not harm children, vulnerable adults or other staff or volunteers.

Job Purpose

The operator will be responsible for the daily works of the water station, which includes operating the equipment (pumps, generators, etc.) and carrying out preventive maintenance. Chlorination and testing of water in the tanks according to water quality standards. Monitor fuel, oil and water levels, read the meters monitoring (water flow, water pump, chlorine pump, generators), record all information according to the agreed water station operating schedules, and fill out all operational hard copy forms of the pumping station

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Carry out the daily work within the water station including operating and monitoring the generating sets and pumps.
  2. Monitor the electrical control panels in a way that ensures the safe operation and proper performance of the connected equipment.
  3. Send daily information to the network controller regarding the operation situation, report any technical malfunction or an emergency defect directly.
  4. Receive the fuel and oils for operating the generating sets with fuel, and monitor the technical condition of the generators as well as the level of performance.
  5. Fill the pumping data forms daily and accurately.
  6. Carry out periodic fuel inventories.
  7. Carry out a daily maintenance procedure for mechanical and electrical equipment at the station.
  8. Maintain the safety and cleanliness of the water station.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or middle school certificate,
  • Two previous experiences in operating water stations
  • Preferably Industrial Institute certificate (mechanical/electrical).
  • Experienced in dealing with electrical control panels is preferred.
  • Experience in operating diesel generators is preferred.
  • Experience in handling horizontal and submersible pumps is preferred.
  • Able to work for longer hours.
  • The applicant must be a resident of camps covered by ACTED at Qah, Karama, Leeajlekom, and Salam clusters.
  • Fluent in Arabic (Reading and Writing)
