Position DescriptionThe Department of Biology at Texas State University invites applications for a tenured Associate Professor or Professor position specializing in ecohydrology. The successful candidate is expected to establish ongoing collaboration with the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment, and act to assist in its scientific mission. To be eligible for hire at the associate professor rank, candidate must meet the requirements for that rank as established by the department. The successful applicant will receive the appropriate rank and title based on university and department established standards. All positions are subject to the availability of funds.This position will receive operating funds through the Meadows Endowment. The successful candidate will be expected to:Develop an externally funded research program within the general field of integrated hydrological studiesIntegrate graduate students into the research programPublish original research in peer-reviewed research journalsTeach at least one full course and one seminar per year in their area of expertiseServe as a scientific resource (e.g., expert witness, technical panel member) in public policy processes related to water resourcesProvide service (e.g., committee membership) within the University community
Required QualificationsRequired qualifications are an earned Ph.D. in the biological sciences, environmental hydrology, ecohydraulics, environmental engineering, or related field; a sustained record of peer-reviewed publications related to hydrological- ecological interactions, a sustained record of external grant funding to support research; and evidence of successful supervision and mentoring of doctoral students.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred qualifications include national/international recognition of professional contributions, and prior experience with collaborative cross-disciplinary research experience that complements the strengths of the department.
