PlanBørnefonden is one of Denmark’s largest privately funded child rights organizations. We are a part of Plan International which operates in over 70 countries. We work to ensure the rights of children and young people in the most vulnerable and fragile areas of the world with a special focus on girls and young women who are disproportionally affected by inequality, poverty, and crises. We are currently recruiting a WASH Program Manager to manage parts of PlanBørnefondenâs WASH portfolio across humanitarian, fragile, and development settings, as well as provide technical WASH support to the overall WASH portfolio.
PlanBørnefonden works integrated with WASH, including Water, Sanitation and Hygiene. The WASH program manager will be part of the ECD-WASH team in Copenhagen, where you will manage medium to large scale WASH programmes. You will also lead technical aspects of PlanBørnefondenâs WASH portfolio, support colleagues in implementation, research, and learning, and ensure that WASH programmes and projects are delivered with high quality and meets recognized standards, with a specific focus on gender transformative WASH.
About the position
Main Tasks
- WASH programme and project management to ensure high quality and timely delivery
- Preparing for and developing new and relevant proposals for funding
- Provide technical support and advisory on integrated WASH with specific focus on gender transformative WASH and climate resilient WASH
- Contribute to Plan International WASH capacity and join the Plan International WASH network.
- Work on WASH research project and ensure results and learnings are relevant and accessible to other Plan offices and partners.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in managing, coordinating, developing, and implementing WASH interventions in the Global South (development, fragile settings, humanitarian)
- A relevant Mastersâ Degree, such as Global Health, Environmental Health or Public health
- Solid knowledge and expertise into climate adaptation and the correlation with WASH
- Technical expertise and knowledge of WASH hardware/infrastructure is an asset
- Experience with logical framework approach (LFA) frameworks, needs assessments, proposal writing, budgeting, and reporting skills
- Excellent communication, coordination, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel for work related activities
- Fluency in English, knowledge of French strongly preferable.
- Experience from implementation of WASH projects in development and well as nexus and humanitarian settings is an advantage
- Experience in working with gender transformative approaches
Starting Date: As soon as possible, latest April 1st, 2023. The position is a for a period of 2 years with the possibility of extension.
Location: Copenhagen, Denmark. It is required that you hold a working permit.
