Summary Statement
Become part of the City and have an opportunity to make a difference as a Water Education Program Assistant at the Boise WaterShed. Located at the West Boise Water Renewal Facility, the Boise WaterShed teaches water protection and conservation with a hands-on approach.
- Plans and facilitates environmental education activities for summer youth and family programs at the Boise WaterShed Environmental Education Center
- Uses exhibits, art and programs to teach people of all ages how to protect and conserve resources
- Works under general supervision
- This position is open to all interested persons 18 years of age and older
- Estimated employment duration is from February 1, 2023 to November 1, 2023
- This temporary position is anticipated to last 9 months or less and is designated as At-Will

Collaborates, plans and teaches water and STEM educational activities for kids at the Boise WaterShed during WaterShed Wednesday events. Works with Water Education Coordinator and education staff on program development and implementation. Participates in team-building and environmental stewardship activities as scheduled. (100%)

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training
- Interest in water or the environment and working with children
Ability to:

Physical Efforts
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds and rarely lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds. Also, the employee is occasionally pushing/pulling up to 10 pounds and rarely pushing/pulling up to 75 pounds. The noise level is rarely moderate. Work includes sensory ability to talk, hear, smell and touch. Work in this position also includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception. Employees will stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach and grasp. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.
Working Environment
The work environment will include inside conditions and outdoor weather conditions. Employees will also drive a vehicle as part of this position.
The schedule for this position is 5, 8 hour shifts Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays
