The Opportunity 

Across the West of the UK, we have a team of 150+ multi-disciplinary water engineers working closely together on a wide variety of flood and coastal risk management, waste and clean water infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets.  We are seeking a Senior Dams and Resevoirs engineer, ideally located in Cardiff or Bristol, to help lead and/or manage a diverse range of projects within our major client portfolios.  We are looking for individuals who are passionate about technical excellence and providing an outstanding service to our clients. The ideal candidate will technically guide and/or manage projects within our exciting and innovative, Dams and Resevoirs team. As a senior member of an established and growing team, you will mentor and delegate work amongst engineers and other specialists, supporting them with your experience.  You will have the opportunity to make a difference – to Arup, to your career, to our staff and to the clients and communities we serve. 

Is this role right for you?  

We are looking for a Senior Dams and Resevoirs engineer with curiosity, personal drive, and technical know-how. We welcome all applicants from a Water Engineering, Flood Risk and Water Asset Management background. Engineering experience in the UK water, with a focus on Dams and Resevoirs, would be ideal.   

  • A relevant degree and Chartered Engineer status.  
  • Proven technical design experience for Dams, Resevoirs, water schemes/frameworks, and ideally experience in leading / working on water projects 
  • Experienced in the project management and leading multidisc teams
  • Proven skills in the commercial management of design projects including preparing fee proposals, preparing programmes, monthly reporting and submissions, AFPs, managing and coordinating design teams  
  • Competence in Civils ED, any flood modelling packages and 3D CAD packages.
