Job Description
Applications are requested for Research Fellow (Postdoc) positions on water-food-energy nexus with Prof. He Xiaogang, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
The overall objective of this work is to identify sustainable and optimal pathways to expand ASEAN renewables. The successful candidate will need to develop a novel integrated water-energy planning model to quantify how improved representation of short-term cascade reservoir operations could enhance grid resilience, increase long-term economic opportunities, and help inform investment strategies in a high-renewables system.
Job Requirements
• Possess a PhD in hydrology, water resources engineering, energy system planning and optimization, climate change, or from similar programs.
• Preferably with extensive experience in developing complex computer codes, e.g. in Python, R, or Shell.
• Ability to construct and write papers for leading research journals and conferences.
• Good written and spoken communication
• Open to fixed-term contract
