WaterAid India‘s mission is to transform the lives of the poorest and most marginalised people by improving access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene. WaterAid India’s goal is to “Make Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) poverty history in the country”. WaterAid is implementing the Project “Counting Every Drop” in 10 Gram Panchayats each of Chittoor, Guntur, Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh to improve the quality of life of marginalized communities, throughcommunityandinstitution ledsustainableandequitableaccesstoWater, WaterAid is currently working in 11 states and has a regional office in Hyderabad to manage the projects in Hyderabad and AP. It will support district and state administrations to promote community-managed models through training and capacity building. The project targets critical WASH behaviours such as handwashing with soap and water at critical times and access to water from safe sources for cooking and drinking purposes.  BROAD EXPECTATIONS To primarily be responsible for the management and delivery of the Counting Every Drop project with field project teams in three locations – Chittoor, Guntur and Vizianagaram. To supervise the overall set of activities relating to both construction of water hardware structures and Community engagement activities in a strict and time bound manner with maximum efficiency and impact. To support the regional team in the delivery of other activities of the WaterAid South region in the state of Andhra Pradesh. DELIVERABLESProgram team management

  • Develop location-specific strategy and action plan as per the regional programme direction to implement the activities in a timely and effective manner
  • Develop micro programme plans, activities plans and budgets with the field teams.
  • Led the field teams in taking up the activities and provide constant support for their implementation.
  • Manage all aspects related to the field operations which include but are not restricted to:

Stakeholder Management

  • Facilitate convergence and leverage of support from other sources – non-government, government and Corporate/CSR organisations

Technical Support

  • Ensure adherence to technical and programme standards and quality

Documentation

  • Coordinate regular reporting to donor and including case studies, contribute to learning through sharing India and international developments
  • Ensure the project activities with the organizational finance compliance and internal controls
  • Undertake any other activity/ work as directed by Supervisor 

ELIGIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS

  • Post-graduate degree in social sciences, rural/urban development, economics, water/health management, environment, social policy, engineering from a reputed university/institute
  • Work experience between 7 to 12 years of relevant work experience in a similar organisational/functional context.
  • Demonstrated work experience in
  1. Field Operations i.e. of having run/implemented large programmes in the past
  2. Managing small to medium-sized teams
  3. Working with collectives at a village level, on natural resource management, on WASH and/or
  4. Delivery of projects at scale.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to network; be a self-starter; Be able to work independently. Be able to work with a range of people from different backgrounds in an open-minded and collaborative manner.
  • Professional language proficiency in English and Telugu is mandatory.

Desirable

  • Experience in project report writing/donor reports preparation
  • Experience in organising online and offline training workshops
  • Experience working in Andhra Pradesh
