We are applied hydrologists and water engineers, specialising in the collection and analysis of hydrological and environmental data and in the provision of expert services in water resources management and storm-water runoff and flood management. We provide a full range of data collection, analysis and reporting services, from spot flow gauging to long-term, wide-area hydrometric monitoring, and we provide modelling, planning and policy support and consultancy services for water resources and storm/flood risk management applications. We work throughout the UK, and around the world, for public and private sector clients, regulators, governments and agencies. Our website provides details of our work, and our services: see www.hydro-logic.co.uk

We currently have a vacancy for a water resources system modeller with experience and expertise in the use of AQUATOR or WRAPsim or MISER. We have a long-standing partnership with Oxford Scientific Software (OSS), the originators and developers of the AQUATOR package, and we are now co-developing new analysers and tools with OSS to enhance the utility and the applications range of AQUATOR. We undertake AQUATOR modelling work for a range of water companies throughout England and Wales, and are able to offer unique opportunities to candidates to work on both the application and development of water resources system models to real-world water resources problems, including the determination and optimisation of deployable output under deep uncertainties, the development of adaptive pathways to resilience and the use of fast modelling to explore hitherto prohibitive analytical approaches. We have recently secured long-run framework appointments with a number of water companies, and can offer unrivalled career development opportunities to candidates with a water resources modelling and planning background.

We also have a vacancy within the team for an AQUATOR Applications Developer. If you have MS.net and VBA.net programming skills, see our advert for the position of Programmer/Analyst.

For the AQUATOR modeller post, we are looking for candidates with the skills, experience and attributes set out in the following table. If you match up, send us a CV and an applicant statement to telling us why you think you’ll be right for us, and us for you. Please provide specifics on the skills you have against those listed as being essential, desirable and useful. Experience in the use of AQUATOR is desirable, but candidates with developed skills in the use of other water resources packages with an enthusiasm to switch to AQUATOR would be very welcome.
