North East Catchment Management Authority (NECMA) is seeking an Environmental Water and Wetland Officer, who will work within the Environmental Water Program to deliver environmental water and wetland projects.
The role requires demonstrated experience with water resource management, and a good understanding of a broad range of natural resource management issues which can impact on water quantity and quality.
The primary focus of this role is to:
- Co-ordinate projects within the Environmental Water Program.
- Integrate water resource management and allocation processes into the region’s natural resource management programs.
- Establish a greater awareness of the current condition, risks, threats and values of the region’s water dependent ecosystems; and
- Maintain, develop and encourage partnerships with relevant stakeholders primarily land managers, Traditional Owner Groups, public authorities, government agencies and community groups.

This is a full-time fixed term position until 30 June 2024. The salary package will be dependent on experience ($70,260.63 – $89,376.26 pro rata). Offices are currently located at Tallangatta, Wangaratta and Wodonga.
