The Hydrometeorology Lab ( at the Hebrew ‎University of Jerusalem, Israel, seeks ‎a postdoctoral scholar with expertise in large river flood ‎modeling. The position is held at the Hebrew University (the lab is a part of the Institute of ‎Earth Sciences) and in collaboration with Google’s flood forecasting team. The research ‎ involves standard hydrological modeling approaches and advanced statistical approaches including ‎machine learning tools. The target will be global, with a special focus on data-scarce regions. ‎

We seek for a post-doc with expertise in large river flood modeling. Experience with satellite ‎precipitation data processing is an advantage. The candidate must have a strong ‎computing/programming skills ‎and a strong record of publications in international journals. The position is planned for at least ‎one year with an extension option, depending on the progress. Start date is flexible, but earlier ‎dates are preferred. ‎
