Pierce Conservation District is government that works. We work strategically, diligently and passionately to conserve and restore the natural resources of Pierce County. The Water Quality Specialist works to increase watershed health knowledge and positive behavior change through action projects, workshops, trainings, and community outreach. Main programs you will serve in are: -Habitat Stewardship Serve with community stewards to improve local open space for water quality, wildlife, and people. -Urban Tree Sale Serve with tree professionals to select urban tree types for our sale and support growing tree canopy over urban landscapes. -Rain Barrel Sale Serve with partners and local vendors to support community harvesting rainwater to slow the urban water cycle. -Stream Team Monitoring Serve with 80+ volunteer monitors to gather stream health data and draft annual reports for partners.
