Under the direction of the Arizona Project WET (APW) Tucson Water Education Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator, qualified applicants will be trained to become part of a team of Water Educators. The primary purpose of the Water Educator is to deliver locally relevant water education programs to Tucson-area school districts. These programs include: • Groundwater Flow Model presentations to 3rd and 6th grade classrooms • Sweetwater Wetlands Outdoor Water Festivals for 3rd grade classrooms • School Water Audits with middle and high school classrooms • Teacher Professional Development All necessary training is provided through Arizona Project WET. Candidates should have a strong interest in inquiry-based water education. Basic knowledge of educational principles and methods should be enhanced with creativity and flexibility. Strong communication skills are a must, along with the ability to translate technical information into age-appropriate presentations.
