Improving the understanding of hydrological processes at the catchment scale, by eliminating the effects of Precipitation Measurement Biases (PMBs) propagating into the modelling and interpretation phases is the relevant scientific objective of this project. This would improve our simulation capabilities towards the hydrological response of urban and natural catchment basins to the meteorological forcing variables, first the precipitation amount and intensity. Improved model performance would support better prediction of future trends, forecasting of the natural system evolution during (nowcasting) or in advance of extreme events, assessment of the available water resources and their distribution over time (e.g., recession curves), etc.
