We are seeking a suitably experienced and motivated individual for the position of Team Leader Water Quality in the Environmental Monitoring Section based in Hamilton.

The purpose of this position is to lead the team that measures, processes and reports on groundwater, river and lake water quality.  A key focus will be delivering attribute monitoring under the National Policy Statement for Freshwater Management.  You will work closely with the other teams in the monitoring section covering hydrology, ecology and data management. As a Section we lead the gathering and management of environmental information for Council that is used by scientists, engineers and policy analysts for decision making. 

You should be able to demonstrate a proven track record in:

  • Team leadership.
  • Undertaking and developing plans for water quality monitoring.
  • Building and maintaining partnerships and relationships across a wide range of individuals, stakeholders and organisations.
  • Leading, developing and facilitating projects, initiatives and responses at operational and strategic levels.
