Water Management Specialist via Indeed

Working as part of the Corporate Technical & Project Services team, this role is to assist Centerra in ensuring operational resiliency taking account of water management challenges at our operations and projects.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure all operating and project sites have accurate water balance and quality models
  • Ensure water balance models are updated regularly
  • Water conservation
  • Provide M&A activity support for water management aspects

Role Requirements

  • Broad experience in mining industry water management. Minimum 15 years’ experience
  • Understanding of mining, processing, geochemistry, hydrology, hydrogeology and meteorology inputs to mine site water balance models
  • Degree in environmental, metallurgical or process engineering or science
  • Experience in modeling for studies/projects and operating sites
  • Environmental assessment and permitting experience related to water management
  • Preferred understanding of international practices including IFC/EBRD performance standards, and ICMM water stewardship framework, GRI reporting, CDP Water Security Program, etc
  • Stakeholder engagement experience including regulators and indigenous peoples
  • Professional designation and Canada residence right
  • Water treatment experience preferred but not essential
  • Ability to use water modeling software
  • Keen interest in climate change issues
  • Mine site design for water management including facilities construction and operability
  • Ability to identify creative solutions for overall site water management
  • Able to manage a wide range of specialist consultants effectively
  • Effective communicator and self-starter
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment handling multiple assignments
  • Able and willing to travel internationally to operations and project sites
