We are now looking to recruit a Graduate Scientist to work full time.  This role will be based out of Swindon. Currently, we are operating remote working for many of our office-based employees and this is expected to evolve into a blended working arrangement between home and office when restrictions enable this.



We are seeking a Graduate Scientist to join our successful Technical Consulting Team working primarily with the water resources, clean water networks and leakage management and asset management/resilience themes. 

Within WRc, you?will be responsible for working collaboratively on?delivering innovative solutions to the water industry.?You will be responsible for helping to deliver the business plan through active participation in activities across the whole Technical Consulting Team but mainly working closely with the leakage/water resources and asset resilience theme leads, and the Director of Technical Consulting, to achieve our commercial targets.? The successful applicant?will be able to support the delivery of projects to UK and international clients, and support the development of bids and proposals.

The specific tasks are as follows:

  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of subject matter experts
  • Identify and contribute to the development of solutions in relation to clean water networks, water resources, asset resilience and leakage management.
  • Support the formulation of technical proposals and the development of project ideas.
  • Take account of the latest developments and innovations in the subject area, to help maintain WRc’s position as an industry leader
  • Help to deliver projects to our clients from around the world.

Person specification:

Educated to degree level or higher in a relevant subject, ideally in a scientific, mathematics, civil engineering, data science or environmental based subject.  A postgraduate qualification is desirable.

The ideal candidate will have a good appreciation of the UK water industry and its associated regulation and have strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mentality.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter and have a positive attitude and desire to learn coupled with a curious mindset and ability to understand and interpret complex datasets. A good working knowledge of MS Office and excellent written and communication skills is required. Must be eligible to work in the UK.
