The Hydrogeology workgroup in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Tübingen offers the position of a
which can be filled in January 2019. Initial employment is for 3 years. Extension to 6 years in total is subject to a positive assessment. The salary is according to the civil service pay A13 or TV-L E13 of the state of Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
The Center for Applied Geoscience (ZAG) is one of the largest university research centers in Europe focusing on applied environmental research in the subsurface. We head the Collaborative Research Center 1253 CAMPOS – Catchments as Reactors (www.campos.uni-tuebingen.de) of the Universities of Tübingen, Hohenheim, Stuttgart and the Helmholtz Centers Leipzig/Halle and Munich. The hydrogeology workgroup also coordinates the research training group «Integrated Hydrosystem Modelling» (www.hydromod.uni-tuebingen.de) in collaboration with the Universities of Hohenheim, Stuttgart and Canadian partners.
We seek for a researcher with profound knowledge in numerical simulation of groundwater systems. For the connection to the CRC CAMPOS a focus on reactive-transport simulations in regional-scale hydrosystems is of particular interest. Applicants should have an excellent PhD degree in hydro(geo)logy, environmental engineering, applied mathematics or related fields with applications to the simulation of subsurface flow and transport processes. Publications in international peer-reviewed journals are mandatory. The successful applicant is expected to lead a productive research team, successfully acquire third-party-funding, publish papers in highly ranked journals, and participate in teaching. The position should make its holder eligible to apply for a full faculty position. For more information contact: Prof. Olaf A.
