Surface Water Modeller / Water Resource Engineer (Senior)
Golder Associates is seeking a Senior Water Resource Engineer / Surface Water Modeller to provide support and growth to the Surface Water Group. This position is part of the Water Division as part of the Environment Business Unit. To manage surface water resource projects; storm water management, hydrology studies / modelling, river design and water intakes.
Continue the development of key skills in surface water modelling;
Manage surface water components for EIA’s and mine waste management projects.
Develop and review technical reports for clients.
Lead and review proposal writing related to Water Resources.
Manage project budget, resources and timelines effectively.
Consult with our clients on technical issues related to surface water projects.
Prepare and review high quality project and design reports.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree in Civil / Water Resource Engineering (Post Graduate Degree will be an added advantage).
15+ years’ experience with at least 10 years within the consulting industry.
Excellent report writing skills and strong project management skills
Must have experience in catchment and mine water modelling that relates to both water quantity and quality.
Extensive water resources modelling; storm water modelling; flood-lines determination experience.
Strong experience in mine water management and water and salt balance modelling.
Experience with EIA’s
Must be proficient in the application of hydrology and water resource models such as PCSWMM, ACRU, WRSM2000, Mike software, HEC-RAS and have programming skills in Excel/VBA.
Valid driver's license
Is regarded as an expert in a technical discipline area (includes project management) in their office or region
