CANADEM is seeking Spanish/Portuguese-speaking seasoned professionals with previous relevant experience for its WASH roster. CANADEM is a Canadian based NGO that works with various UN agencies through the standby partnership programme. We regularly deploy candidates in various areas of expertise all around the globe. Registration with CANADEM is always free. We are looking to expand our pool of experts for potential/upcoming opportunities with different UN agencies field offices. Most positions are for 3 to 6-month deployments.

technical competences
Understands key technical WASH and hygiene promotion issues in shelters sufficiently well enough to be able to: engage with WASH implementers; make full use of their experience and knowledge; guide strategy and plans; communicate and advocate on important issues.
The candidate will have the following languages’ level:
Spanish (fluent spoken and written)
English (an advantage)
Portuguese (as advantage)
University degree, preferably at an advanced level, in water, sanitation and/or behaviour change and hygiene promotion.
Extensive work experience relevant to the functions may be considered as a replacement for formal qualifications.
Formal training in hygiene promotion/behaviour change an advantage
Formal training in cluster coordination an advantage
At least 7/10 years progressive responsibilities in humanitarian work with UN and/or NGO, including programme management and/or coordination in WASH emergency responses including elaboration and implementation of hygiene promotion campains.
Extensive work experience outside the humanitarian sector which is relevant to the expected results, may be considered as a replacement for humanitarian experience.
