WSP, an award‑winning and innovative multi‑disciplinary engineering consulting firm, seeks a Water Resources Senior Project Manager for our growing water engineering practice within our Briarcliff Manor or New York offices. This is an opportunity for an individual with technical experience and business acumen to become part of a renowned team of professionals working in a great environment and applying the latest technology to a wide variety of water engineering projects. This position will encompass numerous aspects of water engineering services with an emphasis on flood resilience, dam, levee, and hydraulic infrastructures, storm water modeling and drainage design, and water infrastructure development. The position will include project management, sub-consultant management, quality control, marketing, and client management. Additionally, this position will require the development and review of technical reports, proposals, contract documents, resources studies, computer modeling, and data analysis. Candidates will be working with state agencies, private clients, and local governments to provide a wide variety of water resources engineering support.
Candidate will serve as Senior Project Manager on a variety of projects. Work responsibilities may include:
Leading major proposals; managing, leading, executing, and providing technical support on a variety of water related as well as interdisciplinary projects.
Communicating with clients, establishing goals and objectives for project teams, and scheduling and coordinating resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the performance expectations of the client
Supporting proposal development on a variety of water-related as well as interdisciplinary projects and attending conferences and seminars.
Domestic and international travel, when necessary.
Promoting water resources project capabilities by presenting at various conferences, seminars and prospective clients.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree (Master’s Degree preferred) in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related field.
15+ years of experience in water or water resources engineering, design of hydraulic structures and modeling; however exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered.
Experience managing a team of professionals with a wide array of skill sets, work with project teams and provide planning, technical leadership, and coordination with supporting technical disciplines to complete integrated design.
High competency levels in multiple disciplines including civil engineering, hydrology and hydraulics engineering, structural engineering, master planning, feasibility studies, stormwater design, conveyance systems design, hydraulic structures, pump stations, watershed assessment, wastewater utilities, and stream restoration.
Proven ability to effectively achieve positive results in marketing and business development including experience preparing technical and cost proposals for public and private clients.
PE License in New York or ability to reciprocate within 3 months is required.
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
