The Climate Change Group at IIED is seeking an Assistant coordinator to provide maternity cover for 10 months on a part-time basis. This post is particularly suitable for candidates interested in a career path in project management and research support.
The post holder will be responsible for providing administrative, communications and finance support to the Group’s Senior Coordinators.
The Climate Change Group at IIED, in conjunction with partners, seeks to secure an equitable deal for the poorest communities in developing countries, who are exposed to increasingly severe and unpredictable weather events that can devastate communities, destroy livelihoods and exacerbate poverty. IIED places particular emphasis on capacity strengthening through collaborative action-research with organisations – both government and non-government in the South.
To succeed in this role, you will be fluent in English, with good verbal and written skills. You will have administrative experience including taking minutes, organising meetings, proofreading documents as well as knowledge and experience of business software. You will be organised, with lots of initiative and enjoy a varied work load with changing priorities. You will have experience of working with colleagues from diverse cultures based overseas and have an understanding of the challenges this involves.
