Water is life. Water risks like scarcity, flooding or quality degradation can only be tackled sustainably when all water users along the value chain collaborate. The International Water Stewardship Programme (IWaSP) and NatuReS which is the second phase of IWaSP enable partnerships between the private, the public, and the civil society sector to collectively tackle water security, creating synergies for all stakeholders.
IWaSP/NatuReS partnerships strive for a sustainable watershed management where all stakeholders are able to autonomously participate in the formulation and implementation of measures. The programme currently facilitates partnerships in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa, Zambia, Uganda, Grenada, St. Lucia and Pakistan. It supports these with local expert teams in all those countries and a coordinating team in Germany.
The main task of an intern is to support the IWaSP/NatuReS team on a range of functions, including:
- research and conceptual development of key water-related themes relevant for partnerships
- support of international communications
- organisation and management of events and workshops
- support of the development of new partnerships (international and local)
- preparation of project proposals in cooperation with internal and external experts and partners
- preparation of project reports
- support of project documentation
- support of monitoring and evaluation

S/he must have excellent communication and writing skills. Fluency in English and German is required, knowledge of other languages desirable, like Spanish.
