Internship for UNU‐INWEH Flagship report Global Water Research (5 positions)

Background: UNU‐INWEH is planning to publish its flagship report by the end of 2018. The focus of the report will be “global water research”.  Data research and analysis methodology of the report has been designed. The water research data will be collected separately for the education and research institutes from identified online resources. This data will be collected for the following regions:

  • Asia
  • Europe and South America
  • North America
  • Eurasia
  • Africa

We are looking in total for five (5) interns to assist with the data and information collection and synthesis and support work on the flagship report in general. Three (3) interns will collect, compile and extract data from online resources in Spanish or Mandarin or Russian and translate to English and the other two (2) will collect data and information from online resources in English.

Internship Requirements:

  • Eligibility requirements as available at:
  • A final year undergraduate student of postgraduate student or recent degree holder  
  • Familiarity in undertaking research and data analysis
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly use of Excel
  • Fluent in oral and written English
  • Spanish or Mandarin or Russian language skills at mother tongue competency and excellent knowledge of English
  • Experience in translation is an advantage

Responsibilities (List of Tasks):  

  • Collect and synthesis data on the status of water research from identified resources
  • Search literature on the water research related parameters
  • Compile the data in the format provided

Expected Products (Outputs):
Datasets and information on the status of water research at education and research institutes.
Internship report submitted to UNU‐INWEH, as per requirements of UNU‐INWEH internship programme.

Duration and Start Date:
The duration of the internship is at least 3 months, which may be extended to 6 months depending on the need and work progress. The internship is expected to start at a mutually agreed date in early or late June 2018.
