Position Details

The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) ensures that Victoria has the right conditions to enable economic growth, while delivering liveable, inclusive and sustainable communities. Its Water and Catchments Group manages Victoria’s water resources to meet future urban, rural and environmental needs, working in partnership with a range of stakeholders including water corporations and catchment management authorities.

As the Director you will lead the team that provides informed technical advice for water resource management, planning and decision making for the Water and Catchments Group and the broader water sector.  Specifically, this team focuses on the assessment of surface water and groundwater resource condition and availability, and understanding how climate change and variability impact on Victoria’s water resources.  Your role will include the oversight of the delivery of the Latrobe Valley Regional Water Study and Long Term Water Resource Assessment.

We are keen to hear from you if you can demonstrate strong strategic leadership and management abilities as an executive level officer, supported by a sound understanding of how to inform water management decision making through the provision of fit for purpose technical advice.  Helping the team to continue to develop both personally and professionally by bringing a positive and enthusiastic approach will be highly regarded.
