Member Duties : The member will provide critical support to enable high school students interested in the natural resources to be successful in their future college and professional careers. Serving approximately 30 hours per week, the member will support three Coos Watershed Association programs: the Natural Resources Bridge-to-College (“Bridge”) Program through Southwestern Oregon Community College, the Oregon Youth Conservation Corps (OYCC) crew, and the Coho Life Cycle Monitoring Program. Position priorities are to 1) mentor, lead, and support high school students in watershed restoration and college prep activities while building their confidence and excitement about natural resources (50%); 2) work alongside local scientists to support our salmon restoration, monitoring, and stewardship efforts (25%); and 3) assist with planning and outreach (e.g. newsletters) for community science and outreach programs (25%).
