COWI holds a strong competitive position in the national market for a wide range of projects within Water and Environment. We are looking for a senior modelling specialist with strong project management skills for our office in Lyngby.

We are meeting the challenges of urbanization, climate adaptation, environmental protection and water resources management and we are looking for experienced water professionals who want to contribute to the exciting business development.

COWI’s department Groundwater and Geoscience is part of the business unit Water and Environment, which covers both national and international projects within water and environment for both private and public customers. You will be part of a team of engaged and dedicated engineers and consultants located in Denmark.

As a senior hydrological modelling specialist and project manager you will be technically responsible for both small and large projects in close co-operation with customers and colleagues. Depending on your profile you may have further responsibility for the development of our business in Scandinavia and internationally.


As an experienced modelling specialist you are focused on delivering high value solutions for complex assignments for public customers, utilities, industries and asset owners. As project manager you will be responsible for planning and implementing projects and achieve the project goals, and have the primary customer contact. As a mentor you will guide the next generation of water professionals.

You will become part of a highly professional team consisting of engineers, hydrogeologists and geoscientists. You will be working in a social environment where we have fun while focusing on a high professional level.

Your professional skills:

You have minimum B.Sc. in sciences or engineering disciplines and have more than 10 years of work experience within modelling.

Your competencies include:

  • You have solid expertise within hydrological modelling with e.g. GMS, MODFLOW, MIKESHE, FEFLOW and similar
  • You are motivated to mentor junior staff
  • You are good at motivating and guiding your project team
  • You have proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment
  • You are fluent in English, orally and in writing, and proficiency in Danish is favourable.
