The candidate for this position will actively participate in interdisciplinary projects to study the environmental impact of renewable energy systems such as conventional hydropower, marine and hydrokinetic energy, and wind power. The primary scope of this position includes data processing and analysis, algorithm development, and assisting with journal article and report writing.
Candidates must have received a Master’s degree within the past 24 months or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university. Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 required.
Candidates must have received a Master in mechanical engineering, civil or environmental engineering, physical oceanography, or a related field.
The candidate must have good programming skills and be proficient in at least one programming language (MATLAB, Python, r, or C++) and experience with analysis and visualization tools (e.g., MATLAB; Tecplot; Photoshop; AutoCAD). In addition, the successful candidate will be able to work well in a team setting; will exhibit a strong work ethic; will be self-motivated; and will place a high value on data quality and accuracy. Experience with large datasets, knowledge of underwater acoustic or hydroacoustics, and good publication record will be a plus.
3.5 GPA or higher is preferred
