|Position Summary|| |
The Environmental Science and Policy (ENSP) program at the College of William & Mary seeks applications for a two-year postdoctoral scholar position in Environmental Policy to be housed in the Institute for the Theory and Practice of International Relations (ITPIR). The discipline is open, but the ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with faculty in the social sciences, have some advanced quantitative methods training (R, GIS, Stata, Python), have strong organizational and communication skills, and will be able to engage in interdisciplinary research related to energy and the environment. The postdoctoral scholar will also teach one upper-level course per academic year, and arrange an environmental speaker series in the second year. A Ph.D. is required by the time of appointment.
The position offers a competitive salary, research and travel funds, and administrative support. The postdoctoral fellow will be mentored by two William & Mary faculty with teaching and research interests that intersect with Environmental Politics, and will have substantial opportunities for the postdoctoral fellow to pursue their own research projects. The postdoctoral scholar position will be housed at the Institute for the Theory and Practice of International Relations (ITPIR), which supports and promotes internationally focused research that can make a difference in the world. In addition to housing postdocs, visiting scholars, and staff, ITPIR projects have generated more than $44 million in external grants and contracts that have supported more than 1,400 student and faculty researchers, and produced research in leading scholarly journals and in outlets addressed to policy practitioners.
This is a 9-month academic year appointment. Start date is August 10, 2018.
