Wild and Scenic Verde River Ecohydrology Science Technician

This position is an approximately one-year position assisting a science team to determine the flow necessary to maintain the outstandingly remarkable values (including habitat, recreation, and riparian vegetation) of the Wild and Scenic reaches of the Verde River in Arizona.

Candidate will: conduct a literature search for information relating to the resource values, physical properties, water infrastructure, and ecological functioning of the Verde River; review external resources, publications, white papers, reports, and geospatial datasets; compile, summarize and synthesize existing data on hydrology, fish, aquatic invertebrate, wildlife, vegetation, and recreation resources along the Verde River; work with the Verde River Wild and Scenic science team to Identify areas in need of additional work; develop and manage an attributed geospatial database; write a summary document working with the Verde River Wild and Scenic science team on each topic area (hydrology and hydraulics, invertebrates, fish, vegetation/habitat, and recreation); and assist with field work, data entry, analysis and report writing.

Position will be for one year (or less depending on salary) located in Fort Collins, CO but candidate must have the ability to travel to the Verde River a few times a year.
